Arrangement of the site. Arbors.

One of the great places to relax in the garden can be a gazebo. Its small distance from home, surrounded by garden plants and trees, allows you to relax, forget about everyday fuss, relax. The gazebo will be able to shelter you from the scorching sun in a hot cold, save you from rain, and allow you to have lunch or dinner in the fresh air.

Many designers recommend installing a gazebo at the so-called viewing point, from which the entire garden or yard will be perfectly visible, from which all the sights of landscape architecture and picturesque vegetation can be seen. An excellent neighborhood with a gazebo can be a small fountain, a pond, a place for a hearth or a garden fireplace. In some cases, the gazebo is combined into one structure with a garden kitchen. The design and shape of the gazebo must fully comply with the style and size of the garden.

The material for construction and its functional purpose can be varied.

So, a large wooden gazebo with a huge table that can accommodate a large company looks great in the garden; a light wooden gazebo, built from ready-made wooden lattices, and designed for several people to relax; an ordinary bench with a gable canopy mounted on massive pillars, inviting you to sit down for a few minutes to rest; the original gazebo with a domed roof and large windows, which came from the century before last; nice brick garden house with glazing, simple but functional.

It all depends on your desires and financial capabilities.

If you decide to build a gazebo from wood, then it is best to choose a coniferous tree. It is always on sale, inexpensive and quite durable. In order for the wooden structure of the arbors to serve you for a long time, it is necessary, without fail, to open it with special compounds, impregnations, varnishes.

Currently, a wide range of ready-made wooden arbors are on sale, the elements of which have undergone special treatment with protective compounds under pressure and do not need additional processing. The design of these arbors, most often, has an eight, six or four-coal shape and is made in the form of lattice elements. There are also ready-made arbors made in the form of an arbor-umbrella.

In such gazebos, wooden or bituminous shingles, reeds are used as a roof. A small light gazebo can be directly installed on the ground or lawn, and a more massive one must be installed on a special foundation. The construction of a wooden gazebo or pergola must begin with the construction of the foundation. The foundation for these buildings is a concrete platform or special concrete mortgages for each of the pillar legs. When pouring the foundation, special metal anchors are laid for attaching the pillars. The wooden poles of the gazebo or pergola should be on anchors at a distance of about 1-2 cm from the ground, which does not allow contact with the ground and prevents the wood from rotting. Having securely fastened the pillars, they proceed to the installation of the side typesetting wooden elements and the roof. After completion of all installation work, it is necessary to open all wooden structural elements with a special glazing antiseptic, which prevents dirt and moisture from penetrating into the pores of the wood, and also prevents the formation of mold and fungi.

Metal gazebos, which can be found in almost any building supermarket, are currently enjoying great popularity. The bearing elements of such arbors are made of a thin-walled metal pipe of a round or square profile, having a fabric coating of water-repellent material or tarpaulin. They have a low price, are easy to install, but are not durable and do not represent any architectural value. Arbors made of beautiful forged elements are less common.

They have a sophisticated appearance, fit perfectly into any architecture of the site, and can also be excellent supports for climbing plants. Basically, such arbors are made to order, they are reliable, durable and practically no maintenance is required. Before installing a metal gazebo, it is necessary to prepare a flat area, it is advisable to raise it some distance above the horizon so that the gazebo does not flood during rains or melting snow. It is better to build a small foundation for these purposes, and lay wooden boards, paving stone or frost-resistant tiles as a field. Another type of pavilion that has gained great popularity is pavilions built of stone or brick. Pergolas with stone or brick walls have an excellent appearance, original and unique. They can become an attractive element of the landscape architecture of the entire site, be its highlight. The design of such gazebos must be approached with special attention, since its appearance and size must be successfully combined with the buildings and landscape of the entire site. So large gazebos may seem too massive in a small area and suppress other elements with their appearance.

Since the structures of brick or stone arbors are not light in weight, it is recommended to prepare a place for their construction before starting construction. To do this, they dig out a small pit, tamp the earth, and pour a concrete foundation with reinforcement. The height of the foundation should be provided so that water from rain or melting snow cannot get inside the gazebo. Under the first row of brick or stone, be sure to lay a layer of waterproofing film to prevent capillary moisture from spreading to the walls from the foundation. When building gazebos, you can use almost any natural or artificial wall material, it all depends on your imagination.

We hope that the money and effort spent on arranging the gazebo will more than pay off with a sea of positive emotions from its operation. In the gazebo you can have a great rest from everyday bustle, gain new strength, have a great time with family and friends.
